Phoenix is OVER, well, except the flight home

This post will prove to be short in contrast to most of my previous posts as I have to be up at 4am to catch my plane back to the Carolina's.

Today was the final day for the event in Phoenix. It was another hot day, low 90's, and I am baked to a crisp! The last day went smooth in all areas. We even had a bit of a birthday celebration for one of the members of the Volt team, Bill. I'm sure Bill would have much rather been at home to celebrate with his family, but we tried to make the best of it.

We also have several of the people at our tent playing "hide the rock". See, we have been a bit slow, so they decided to find a way to entertain themselves, but in a descrete manner so that no one really knows the game is being played.

They have a rock and someone hides the rock. It takes a while for them to hide it because they have to pick the right spot as well as a good time to place it in the spot so that no one else sees it being placed.
Once the rock is in place, the hider of the rock will say "Game on". That lets the rest of the players know that the rock has been hidden and its time to search for it. They were able to play this game all day and keep themselves entertained as well as do their jobs. Good for them :-)

We just got back from dinner at a great restaurant called the Open Yard. Good food and nice environment. I have spent entirely too much money eating on this trip, and have eaten entirely too much food. I will have to adjust that for the next city.

When I get home we are headed to the beach for some R&R and I cannot wait. I just want to hang out with my family and relax and have fun.
Ya know, it's a good thing when you go through something that makes you realize how special and important and precious time with your family is and how NOT important time at you JOB is. I am so grateful to have every minute with my family that I can get. I mean, I enjoy what I do, but I REALLY enjoy being at home with my wife and kids more than anything else. My kids are growing up SO FAST and its time you can never get back. I spent so much time at work trying to "provide", that I missed a lot of TIME with them. Ill never get that back, but I am gonna do whatever I can to make sure I don't fall into that trap again.Even though I am traveling with my current job, I get a lot of time at home. And when I am home, I'm home.

And I cant wait to get there tomorrow!!
