Beach vacation continued

So the rest of the vacation was just awesome. We didn't really do much, but there again, that's kind of the point of a vacation as far as I'm concerned.

We did a lot of lounging on the beach and watching the kids play in the ocean. I finally managed to get up the nerve to go out in the water deeper than my knees. It was still cold but like my kids said, "It's ok once you get used to it". I think the term "used to it" means, once your body has gone numb from the neck down, the fact that the water is freezing cold really isn't an issue any longer.

In any case, it was fun to get out there and have some fun with the boys. And as usual I had to swim out far enough to make Adrienne nervous. I try to swim out just past the end of the pier. Usually the lifeguards will start blowing the whistle before I can get that far out. But that doesn't stop me from trying. This time we were on a private beach so there were no lifeguards to stop me.

Dylan getting ready to skim board
Noah skim boarding. He's getting better but its funny to watch.
Dylan got dialed in on the skim board pretty quickly
Noah found what was left of this jellyfish
Noah and luke, partners in crime
 Luke rockin the skim board

FACE PLANT! lol. Yes, he did go down. No harm though.

We went to dinner one night to a restaurant we had been to last year. Noah ordered Nachos because he wasn't very hungry. Lewis, our friend, makes the comment "watch it be a massive plate of nacho's".   Well, Lewis was right..................................

Noa did not manage to finish them, but he did some significant damage.

Adrienne ordered the sampler platter Fried flounder, crab cakes, chicken calabash and a twiced baked potato and of course some hush puppies. And Adrienne did manage to eat the entire thing.

One evening we went into town and visited a place where they have some pretty cool animals. We had our pictures taken while holding some of them. If I wasn't scared that it might decide to chase me around the yard like a Gazelle and then trip me to the ground and proceed to eat me like Thanksgiving dinner, I think it would be cool to have one of these cats.

After hanging with the cats for a while we walked around window shopping in all the little stores. We went into one place, I don't remember the name, but the guy behind the counter that took your order would just start singing, LOUDLY! It was pretty funny. The kids and Adrienne all got ice cream. I managed to sneak a pic of Dylan in mid lip lick of his ice cream.

On the way out Adrienne got hungry so she went into.........................

Where she got an awesome stomach ache in the form of a greasy cheeseburger and fries.

We hated to do it, but Sunday evening it was time to go. The drive home was very uneventful.

I am already ready to go back. It was so nice to just hang out with family and friends.

I am really starting to notice a change in myself and the way I think about things and the things that I enjoy. Maybe it's because I'm getting older? Not sure. But whatever it is, I'm ok with it.
